If you haven’t heard already, it’s almost Canada’s 150th birthday! Wow, she’s definitely getting up there. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to create a promotional video with Gold Country BC.

This week’s project features two young couples spontaneously spending $150.00 each on a weekend road trip in Savona, Cache Creek and Merritt.

It was my first off site production day, and gosh, was it ever awesome! Leading up to this, my responsibility was to liaise with various tourism stakeholders, hire actors, map our route, and make sure everything was running smoothly at each location. It is also pretty rad to be compensated for my photography skills (Woo!).

Josef is working hard on uploading and editing the footage this week, so here is a sneak peek of some photographs from our first day of filming!

We have two more filming days for this project to visit the country star themed murals and to check out the Speedway in Merritt. It is safe to say that no body was complaining about working on site at beautiful locations in our very own backyard. There’s nothing like being out on the dock of Kamloops Lake, or having a snack on the shady patio at Horsting’s Farm Market. We are really lucky to live in such an amazing country with such a diverse variety of activities, attractions, and wonderful people.

(And now I’ll insert a cheesy quote here about how working at the Joy Factory brings so much joy to our lives – just kidding!)

Happy – almost –  birthday, Canada!
