We all know Kamloops has a vibrant tech scene and next month holds no shortages of exciting events hosted by our pals at Kamloops Innovation. This is the perfect time to get out there, meet new people, test the waters with your big ideas, and learn more about what being an entrepreneur really is like!
The Kamloops Innovation Centre is hosting a ton of neat startup events, but one you can’t miss is Startup Weekend 2017. Kick off the back to school season from September 8th to 10th, 2017 at the Brown Family’s House of Learning at Thompson Rivers University.
In just 54 hours, you will learn how to create a real company, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started. Startup Weekend is for all ages and for all backgrounds… whether you are into marketing, event planning, business, developing, coding, and much, much more! (Not to mention, the amount of food and beverages that you’ll receive over the course of the weekend is basically the price of your ticket!) Past participants have walked away saying that they have met some of the coolest people – just think about Digital Ocean, Netflix, sports marketing representatives, major consultants from across North America – and felt inspired to create and execute new businesses in the area. WHOA AMAZING.
Other great events including Women In Tech #WITRealTalk at the Sandbar Grill on September 12th, 2017. Exchange, network, and connect with amazing women working in the tech industry across the globe. This panel discussion will be simultaneously streamed with partners in Africa as well! How cool is that!?! Startup Coffee will be happening at Red Beard Cafe later on that week with the final kick off, of the Startup Canada Awards!
So what’s the key takeaway here? That you can’t complain about there being nothing to do in Kamloops with so many neat techie events on the roster! Click here for more information!
